the residents of San Diego felt the same shake of earthquake as they had in 2006. A loud, thundering noise was being heard by the residents of San Diego and they felt they had an earthquake.
USGS seismologist Robert Dollar told 10News sonic booms are caused by high-speed aircraft and it is possible the noise bounced off the atmosphere and made its way around the county.
No damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the loud noise.
Military officials said there were no exercises in the area at the time of the boom.
