Mike Leach texas tech coach Firing is the Greatest Mistake of Texas Tech’s History . Mike Leach has just been fired After 10 years of being the head coach of the Texas Tech Raiders . Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins said the Red Raiders’ coaching situation was of no concern to the Spartans.
Leach had an 84-43 record over 10 seasons. He signed a new five-year, $12.75-million contract last February. As part of the deal, Leach was to earn an $800,000 bonus if he still was the Red Raiders’ head coach Dec. 31. If he were to be fired before that date, Leach was to paid $400,000 for every year remaining on the contract.
